  • As a Senior Developer – Business Intelligence you will be responsible for the
  • architecture, design and development of data solutions. You will be considered
  • as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for a variety of data and reporting solutions.
  • While being responsible for providing support and working closely with the
  • dashboard stakeholders. You will also complete reporting projects end-to-end by
  • gathering requirements, designing solutions, extracting data, and deriving
  • insights.

Responsibilities

  • * Design and build compelling analyses, trending and/or forecasting reports
  • using Microsoft Power BI.
  • * Assist in the publishing of metrics dashboards by identifying, analyzing and
  • interpreting trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • * Define BI development objectives by analyzing user requirements while
  • envisioning system features and functionality.
  • * Translate business needs into technical requirements, clearly communicate
  • probable designs and create prototypes.
  • * Identify risks, barriers, efficiencies, and opportunities when thinking
  • through development approach.
  • * Write functional requirements, develop test plans, and other standard
  • documentation.
  • * Follow data and reporting performance optimization and tuning best practices.
  • * Ensure uniform enterprise-wide integration design standards are maintained.
  • * Collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders to ensure the architecture is
  • aligned with business requirement.
  • * Conduct and participate in collaborative technology discussions and provide
  • constructive feedback.
  • * Monitor trends in technology while researching and building recommendations
  • to implement new technologies, frameworks, or methodologies.
  • * Troubleshoot performance issues and recommend appropriate actions.
  • * Provide production support for both new technology and legacy systems.
  • * Mentor team members and lead by example.

Qualifications

  • * Associates’ Degree (U.S.)/College Diploma (Canada) required; Bachelor’s
  • Degree - Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline
  • preferred
  • * Power BI or Tableau certified preferred
  • * 5 - 7 years experience in designing, developing and supporting data and
  • reporting solutions
  • * 5 - 7 years experience in SQL programming
  • * 5 - 7 years experience preferred in developing BI applications such as
  • PowerBI, Tableau, OBIEE or similar software
  • * Azure Data Bricks and Azure Synapse development knowledge is a plus
  • * Strong skills with data engineering and analyzing data in SQL data warehouses
  • * Ability to build ad-hoc reporting and preform data engineering
  • * Experience in working with large data sets
  • * Ability to quickly shift focus on various development projects as business
  • needs and requirements change
  • * Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group
  • situations to customers and other employees
