  • The Regional RME Manager — SSD Brazil will own reliability, maintenance, and
  • engineering operations across Amazon's Sub Same Day (SSD) network in Brazil.
  • This is a regional role responsible for building and scaling the SSD maintenance
  • organization — covering cold-chain and HVAC-R infrastructure, co-located
  • operations within existing Delivery Stations, and standalone facilities. The
  • role includes budget ownership, maintenance planning, vendor management, remote
  • monitoring of cold storage systems, and team development under the International
  • RME framework (AMS - Amazon Maintenance System).
  • This is a highly ambiguous environment — the SSD program is rapidly evolving,
  • with project scopes, timelines, and operational models still being defined. The
  • successful candidate must be comfortable navigating uncertainty, proactively
  • defining RME strategies where no playbook exists, and influencing
  • cross-functional teams to ensure maintenance and reliability requirements are
  • embedded into program decisions from the start.

Key Responsibilities

  • - Own end-to-end building and facilities maintenance across all SSD nodes in
  • Brazil — standalone and co-located within existing Delivery Stations
  • - Ensure a safe work environment applying Amazon Safety Policy, Permit to Work
  • (PtW), LOTO standards, and VSOP procedures
  • - Lead equipment maintenance for cold-chain infrastructure (walk-in coolers,
  • freezers, refrigerated display units), HVAC-R systems, conveyors, workstations,
  • labeling machines, PLC control systems, and electrical systems
  • - Implement and operate remote monitoring systems for cold storage — temperature
  • tracking, alarm management, and rapid response protocols to ensure food safety
  • compliance and prevent temperature excursions
  • - Develop and deploy Preventive Maintenance routines aligned with AMS standards,
  • with focus on cold-chain asset criticality
  • - Implement Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) on critical cold-chain assets to
  • advance toward predictive maintenance maturity
  • - Own the RME launch playbook for new SSD nodes — from Design for
  • Maintainability reviews through commissioning and steady-state handover
  • - Scale RME coverage across a rapidly growing network, establishing
  • cluster-based support models
  • - Manage 3rd party service providers through structured SLAs, KPI tracking, and
  • regular business reviews
  • - Ensure cold storage food safety compliance — temperature monitoring,
  • HACCP-aligned protocols, and regulatory requirements for perishable grocery,
  • partnering with Grocery/Perishables and Quality Assurance teams
  • - Own the SSD RME budget for Brazil (OPEX and CAPEX), drive spare parts
  • optimization, and coordinate vendor negotiations
  • - Actively participate in SSD project definition and design reviews — represent
  • RME requirements in new node design, equipment selection, and operational model
  • decisions. Have backbone to advocate for reliability and maintainability
  • standards, even when priorities compete, always grounded in the impact to the
  • end customer
  • - Define RME strategy for SSD in Brazil in a new environment
  • - Develop maintenance models, gearing ratios, vendor strategies, and technology
  • roadmaps from scratch, adapting as the program evolves
  • - Partner cross-functionally with AMZL RME, SSD Operations, Grocery/Perishables,
  • Real Estate, and Automation teams
  • - Provide immediate technical guidance to operations during critical events
  • - Be a leader within the group and across partner teams — positive, creative,
  • and driven to find solutions in a fast-paced, high-ambiguity environment Basic
  • Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering,
  • Engineering Technology, Reliability Engineering
  • - Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or
  • holidays
  • - Experience in distribution or manufacturing field with equivalent mechanical
  • or electrical field
  • - Experience in facilities management, office management, corporate
  • administrative services, or hospitality management
  • - Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • - Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
  • - Speak, write, and read fluently in English
  • - Experience applying AI tools to maintenance operations
  • - Industrial maintenance experience
  • - Direct leadership/supervisory experience
  • - Managing department spend and labor budgets, performing root cause analysis
  • (RCA), and implementing continuous improvement (CI) experience Preferred
  • Qualifications: - Master's degree, or Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
  • - Knowledge of statistical analysis
  • - Experience in design review process to incorporate electrical, mechanical,
  • automation controls solutions to drive equipment reliability and standards
  • - Experience in automated conveyors systems and controls, electrical and
  • electronic principles, blueprint and electrical schematic reading, CMMS
  • programs, preventive maintenance procedures, industrial electrical, industrial
  • controls , industrial electronics
  • - Experience leading network level/multi-site maintenance organizations
  • - Experience working with major MHE integrators
