Sobre
- At Amazon, we're working to be the most customer-centric company on earth. To
- get there, we need exceptionally talented, bright, safety-oriented and driven
- people.
- The Regional RME Manager — SSD Brazil will own reliability, maintenance, and
- engineering operations across Amazon's Sub Same Day (SSD) network in Brazil.
- This is a regional role responsible for building and scaling the SSD maintenance
- organization — covering cold-chain and HVAC-R infrastructure, co-located
- operations within existing Delivery Stations, and standalone facilities. The
- role includes budget ownership, maintenance planning, vendor management, remote
- monitoring of cold storage systems, and team development under the International
- RME framework (AMS - Amazon Maintenance System).
- This is a highly ambiguous environment — the SSD program is rapidly evolving,
- with project scopes, timelines, and operational models still being defined. The
- successful candidate must be comfortable navigating uncertainty, proactively
- defining RME strategies where no playbook exists, and influencing
- cross-functional teams to ensure maintenance and reliability requirements are
- embedded into program decisions from the start.
Key Responsibilities
- - Own end-to-end building and facilities maintenance across all SSD nodes in
- Brazil — standalone and co-located within existing Delivery Stations
- - Ensure a safe work environment applying Amazon Safety Policy, Permit to Work
- (PtW), LOTO standards, and VSOP procedures
- - Lead equipment maintenance for cold-chain infrastructure (walk-in coolers,
- freezers, refrigerated display units), HVAC-R systems, conveyors, workstations,
- labeling machines, PLC control systems, and electrical systems
- - Implement and operate remote monitoring systems for cold storage — temperature
- tracking, alarm management, and rapid response protocols to ensure food safety
- compliance and prevent temperature excursions
- - Develop and deploy Preventive Maintenance routines aligned with AMS standards,
- with focus on cold-chain asset criticality
- - Implement Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) on critical cold-chain assets to
- advance toward predictive maintenance maturity
- - Own the RME launch playbook for new SSD nodes — from Design for
- Maintainability reviews through commissioning and steady-state handover
- - Scale RME coverage across a rapidly growing network, establishing
- cluster-based support models
- - Manage 3rd party service providers through structured SLAs, KPI tracking, and
- regular business reviews
- - Ensure cold storage food safety compliance — temperature monitoring,
- HACCP-aligned protocols, and regulatory requirements for perishable grocery,
- partnering with Grocery/Perishables and Quality Assurance teams
- - Own the SSD RME budget for Brazil (OPEX and CAPEX), drive spare parts
- optimization, and coordinate vendor negotiations
- - Actively participate in SSD project definition and design reviews — represent
- RME requirements in new node design, equipment selection, and operational model
- decisions. Have backbone to advocate for reliability and maintainability
- standards, even when priorities compete, always grounded in the impact to the
- end customer
- - Define RME strategy for SSD in Brazil in a new environment
- - Develop maintenance models, gearing ratios, vendor strategies, and technology
- roadmaps from scratch, adapting as the program evolves
- - Partner cross-functionally with AMZL RME, SSD Operations, Grocery/Perishables,
- Real Estate, and Automation teams
- - Provide immediate technical guidance to operations during critical events
- - Be a leader within the group and across partner teams — positive, creative,
- and driven to find solutions in a fast-paced, high-ambiguity environment Basic
