- RESPONSIBILITIES
- JOB SPECIFIC
Responsible for/ensure
- * That clear daily operational guidelines are provided to all direct reports.
- * All relevant governing documents are adhered to by direct reports.
- * Visible leadership by spending time in the field and monitoring
- daily operations.
- * Thorough handovers are provided at each daily change of shift.
- * Subordinates are trained in order to make them suitable for a
- higher position.
- * Other duties are performed as required and/or directed by his/her
- direct supervisor
Assist with
- * BOP latching/unlatching operations.
- * Budgetary control of the department.
- * Well kill operations as per instructions from Seadrill supervisors.
- EQUIPMENT & SYSTEMS
Responsible for/ensure
- * Conducting daily control of all well control equipment and systems.
- * Conducting daily control of all subsea support systems.
- * Conducting equipment function and pressure test as per procedures or
- as directed.
- * Sufficient stock of subsea equipment spare parts and materials is maintained.
- * Managing equipment preparation for future drilling operations.
- OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
* Responsible for the daily control / maintenance of well control equipment
- BOP, MUX control system, riser, slip joint, riser tensioning system,
- kill/choke manifold, compensating equipment and all other associated well
- control equipment;
- * Professional knowledge of hydraulic, electric IT components and
- configurations for subsea BOP Equipment;
- * Demonstrate proficient technical understanding of engineering, industry
- standards and the company management system;
- * Reviews and approves BOP, riser and riser tension configurations;
- * Plans and supervises the deployment, pressure testing and maintenance of BOP;
- * Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the BOP handling systems;
- * Plan, witness and maintain records of pressure test;
- * Responsible for subsea equipment interfaces between client and
- subcontractor’s equipment;
- * Assist in running and testing the wellhead, casing hangers and
- seal assemblies;
- * Confirm that all well specific space out measurements are calculated,
- verified and clearly posted on the rig floor and other relevant areas;
- * Ensure the riser and tensioning system are deployed, operated and recovered
- in accordance with well specific operating guidelines and engineering
- riser analysis;
- * Maintain accurate records of the maintenance history of all subsea equipment
- in the company maintenance management system and coordinate planning and
- implementation;
- * Responsible for ensuring that the subsea department are conversant with
- relevant rig specific procedures, that they are understood, utilized and
- updated accordingly;
- * Oversee the inventory of subsea spares, oils and operating fluids;
- * Communicate equipment problems or breakdown with Technical Field Support
- group and equipment vendor(s);
- * Responsible for maintaining up-to-date documentation package and drawings of
- subsea equipment on board.
- * Maintain the accuracy of the documentation package and drawings and
- participate in the
- * management of change process together with the shorebased office
- * Develop and compile comprehensive subsea procedures and checklists
- * Demonstrate cost control awareness of subsea equipment and inventory. Assist
- with the preparation of the budget;
- * Jointly review the results of regular pressure and function testing along
- with OIM & DSL to ensure the BOP is maintained and ready for deployment;
- * Conduct performance appraisals for subordinates.
- Recommend promotion, development or disciplinary action;
- * Mentor, develop and train crew members to ensure they are competent to work
- in their current job positions and where appropriate coached and prepared for
- the next position;
- * Actively participate in weekly rig and departmental safety meetings;
- * Ensure that approved rig operating procedures are adhered to at all times.
- Report all unsafe activities, situations, and potential hazards
- to supervisor;
- * Actively participate in the Safety Management Systems;
- * Ensure housekeeping is maintained in assigned areas;
- * Effectively use all safety and environmental tools employed by Seadrill
- (5-point check, STAR cards, PTW etc.);
- * Perform all emergency duties as per designation on the station bill and on
- the applicable emergency response plans;
- * Comply with the training matrix for the position;
- * Comply with the Competence Assurance Program in a timely manner as per
- Seadrill requirement;
- * Conduct performance appraisals for subordinates.
- Recommend promotion, development or disciplinary action;
- * Ensure that the Subsea Department has at all times the necessary supplies and
- spare parts for operation and maintenance of all the subsea related equipment
- onboard in accordance with the Company’s inventory policy. Care should be
- taken into consideration when reordering spares and max/min levels should be
- followed and adhered to;
- * Review and, as required, perform all safety control duties as per rig´s
- specific HSE Case, Safety Case, HAZOP and TBRA´s;
- * Review and, as required, perform all duties related to safety controls among
- all tasks performed by himself and or working group;
- * Perform, respecting any applicable license limitation and under supervision,
- similar responsibilities as Technical Section Leader or, onshore, Technical
- Leader or Subsea Superintendent for training, qualification and temporary
- coverage purposes;
- * Perform, if required, the same duties as of the Subsea Engineer;
- * Keep up own certification and medical certificates up to date;
- * Lead incident investigations on board;
- * Ensure familiarity and perform operations risk assessing and supporting rig
- heading changes;
- QUALIFICATIONS
- * As per Seadrill training and competence directives.
- * Be able to communicate in English and Portuguese
- * Valid Supervisor Well Control certification;
- * For Brazilians, high school diploma as a minimum is required (Mechanic
- preferred)
- * For Brazilians, valid mechanical technician certification (with valid CREA)
- or 3rd Engineer or higher rank marine license.
