  • In Short
  • MSQ DX Americas is searching for a Senior Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to join our successful and growing team. This role reports directly to the QA Director and serves as a leader among the QA team, bringing a strong background in both manual and automated testing along with a comfort working with AI-assisted testing and productivity tools. The Senior QA Engineer will be embedded in project teams throughout the delivery lifecycle — sometimes providing QA strategy oversight and direction, and other times serving as the primary hands-on QA engineer on a project. Beyond project work, this person partners continuously with the QA Director to evaluate and shape new processes, procedures, and tools for the broader QA practice.
  • What You'll Be Doing

The Senior QA Engineer blends hands-on testing execution with team leadership and practice-level influence. Depending on the engagement, this person may act as embedded QA oversight — setting test strategy and direction for a project team — or as the primary QA engineer executing day-to-day testing, or both across a portfolio of projects. This role is responsible for Quality Assurance Testing, guiding clients through the User Acceptance Testing process, and playing an integral role in the coordination of releases across product categories, including feature updates, bug fixes, enhancements, and other changes introduced to the product line. This role also owns quality review of applications, including test plans, test strategy, and test cases developed in partnership with developers, business analysts, and project managers to shape and verify code and confirm conformance to business and system requirements. The role relies on a combination of manual testing and test automation and is expected to bring judgment on where and how to apply AI tools to strengthen QA efficiency and coverage. As Senior QA Engineer, you will

  • Own test strategy, risk-based test planning, and exit criteria for assigned projects, whether acting in an oversight capacity or as the primary QA engineer
  • Lead functional, integration, regression, and exploratory testing, and guide automated test coverage across projects
  • Serve as a leader among the QA team, mentoring QA Engineers through pairing, review of test assets, and feedback
  • Partner continuously with the QA Director to evaluate new QA processes, procedures, tools, and AI-assisted testing approaches, and provide guidance on whether they should be adopted across the team
  • Translate requirements, acceptance criteria and Figma designs into clear, testable scenarios in partnership with BAs and developers
  • Drive defect triage: severity/priority assignment, reproduction quality, verification, and regression checks
  • Document defects clearly and thoroughly, including steps to reproduce, environment details, and expected versus actual results, to support efficient triage and resolution
  • Coordinate UAT planning with BA/PMO and client stakeholders, and support go-live readiness reporting
  • Contribute to and help evolve reusable QA assets — templates, regression suites, automation patterns, and playbooks — across the practice
  • Exercise sound judgment on where manual testing, automation, and AI-assisted tooling each provide the best return for a given project
  • What We'd Love to See
  • 5+ years of QA/manual testing experience across the full software development lifecycle (requirements, design, development, testing, release, and post-release support) for public-facing, customer-facing web applications, including validation across desktop and mobile devices, multiple browsers, and responsive breakpoints
  • 3+ years of automated testing experience (Cypress, Playwright, or similar), including test architecture design, reusable test utilities, test data strategy, CI/CD integration, and writing automated test scripts for functional and integration testing
  • 3+ years of experience validating API integrations (Swagger, Postman) or automated API testing frameworks (Playwright API, Cypress API, etc.)
  • Demonstrated comfort using AI tools to support test case generation, test data creation, code review, or other QA workflows
  • Prior experience mentoring or providing technical/QA leadership to other QA team members, and/or previous release management experience
  • Ability to work within an Agile or Waterfall environment, including identifying gaps, clarifying edge cases, and ensuring acceptance criteria are testable and aligned with business requirements
  • Experience managing project requirements and test results within Agile tools (i.e., Azure DevOps and Jira), collaboration and documentation platforms (Confluence, ADO wiki), design/workflow review tools (Figma, Miro), and cross-browser/cross-device testing platforms (BrowserStack, LambdaTest)
  • Highly self-motivated, logical, and efficient, with keen attention to detail and the ability to exercise independent judgment while prioritizing and executing tasks under pressure across multiple concurrent projects
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, including comfort advising project teams and leadership on QA strategy; a strong customer service orientation; and experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, with the ability to maintain positive, productive relationships with stakeholders, peers, and leadership
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university, with a preferred concentration in Business, Management Information Systems, or Accounting
  • Experience with testing on Content Management Systems (CMS) both from the user side and admin side (Sitecore, Optimizely, ContentStack, Contentful)
  • ADA & WCAG 2.0/2.1 (level AA) Compliance testing experience
  • It Would be Nice to Have
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS sufficient to debug UI issues, analyze DOM behavior, and support automated test development, with familiarity with modern front-end frameworks such as React, Next.js, or similar
  • Experience evaluating or piloting AI-powered QA tools (test generation, self-healing automation, visual regression, etc.)
  • Experience contributing to or authoring QA playbooks, templates, or team-wide standards
