  • This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer (GCP) based in Brazil.
  • This is a senior engineering opportunity focused on building and operating a modern, cloud-native data platform on Google Cloud. You will design scalable, secure, highly available, and cost-efficient infrastructure supporting critical data workloads. The role combines cloud engineering, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, networking, CI/CD, security, and observability. You will work extensively with core GCP data services including BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Cloud SQL. Collaboration with DevOps, application, and data engineering teams will be essential to establishing reliable operational standards. You will also contribute to GCP migration initiatives and help identify and address infrastructure risks before they impact production. Accountabilities

  • Build, operate, and continuously improve highly available, scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud data infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Kubernetes/GKE.
  • Design and maintain infrastructure supporting BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL, and Cloud Storage workloads.
  • Develop and manage Terraform configurations for GCP data services, networking, infrastructure, and application deployments.
  • Design and maintain GCP networking configurations, including VPCs, subnets, firewall rules, and private connectivity.
  • Build and optimize advanced CI/CD pipelines for data services and infrastructure, with a strong focus on quality, security, automation, and delivery efficiency.
  • Establish comprehensive monitoring, logging, and observability across cloud infrastructure and data pipelines.
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and production incidents, identify root causes, and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Proactively identify infrastructure, reliability, security, and scalability risks and develop solutions to mitigate them.
  • Implement cloud security best practices, including IAM controls, vulnerability scanning, threat modeling, encryption, and appropriate service isolation.
  • Collaborate with application and data engineering teams to define, implement, and continuously improve operational standards and engineering practices.
  • Support GCP migration initiatives by designing scalable, secure, resilient, and cost-effective cloud architectures.
  • Develop reusable infrastructure patterns and Terraform modules to improve consistency, scalability, and engineering efficiency.
  • Contribute to technical decision-making around cloud architecture, deployment strategies, networking, security, and operational reliability.
  • Support knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across DevOps, platform, application, and data engineering teams.
  • Requirements
  • 5+ years of professional DevOps Engineering experience, including significant hands-on experience with GCP.
  • Strong commercial experience designing, building, and operating data infrastructure on Google Cloud.
  • Hands-on expertise with BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL, and Cloud Storage.
  • Advanced experience with Terraform, including infrastructure for GCP data services, networking, deployments, and preferably reusable modules.
  • Strong understanding of GCP networking, including VPCs, subnets, firewall rules, private connectivity, and hybrid cloud configurations.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing large-scale GCP cloud solutions.
  • Strong experience with Kubernetes/GKE and Docker in production environments.
  • Solid experience designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Practical experience with cloud monitoring, logging, observability, and production troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud security practices, including IAM, CMEK, VPC Service Controls, vulnerability scanning, and threat modeling.
  • Programming or scripting experience with Python and/or Bash, with exposure to Java, Go, Node.js, or similar languages considered valuable.
  • Familiarity with configuration-management technologies such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to design robust, reliable, and maintainable technical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across DevOps, application, and data engineering teams.
  • English proficiency at B2 / Upper-Intermediate level or higher.
  • GCP certifications such as Professional Cloud Architect, Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer, or Professional Data Engineer are a plus.
  • Experience with GCP migration projects, modern data platforms, hybrid or multi-cloud environments, and data engineering teams is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Composer/Airflow, Dataproc, dbt, or similar data and orchestration technologies is a plus.
  • Understanding of cloud security and compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, or PCI DSS is beneficial.
