• This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Roster - Investigator Consultant based in Brazil.
• The Investigator Consultant will join a roster of independent professionals supporting preliminary assessments and investigations into allegations of employee misconduct.
• The role involves planning and conducting complex, sensitive investigations with a strong focus on impartiality, confidentiality, integrity, and evidence-based conclusions.
• You will assess allegations, gather and analyze documentary, physical, financial, operational, and digital evidence, and conduct interviews with relevant individuals.
• You will develop investigation strategies, maintain comprehensive case records, and produce high-quality reports that support informed decision-making.
• The position also involves applying digital forensic techniques and advanced investigative tools while ensuring evidence remains reliable, accurate, and legally admissible.
• You will work independently while following recognized international investigative standards and applicable organizational policies and procedures.

Accountabilities

• Plan, design, and conduct independent investigations into allegations involving violations of policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, rules, and regulations.
• Ensure investigations are thorough, timely, impartial, independent, and conducted with the highest standards of integrity.
• Develop investigation strategies, including defining parameters, timelines, investigative approaches, and appropriate tools.
• Collect, preserve, study, and analyze documentary, physical, financial, operational, and digital evidence relevant to each case.
• Conduct interviews with complainants, witnesses, and subjects while maintaining accurate records of testimony and supporting evidence.
• Conduct investigations in accordance with recognized international investigative standards and applicable internal procedures.
• Apply information technology, data analytics, and digital forensic techniques where appropriate to strengthen investigative processes and evidence evaluation.
• Prepare comprehensive investigative work products, including preliminary assessments, investigation plans, investigation reports, and case closing memoranda.
• Present clear findings, conclusions, and recommendations that are well supported by referenced evidence and suitable for decision-making.
• Assess whether allegations are substantiated and, where appropriate, identify the burden of proof supported by the available evidence.
• Recommend further inquiries, case dispositions, lessons learned, and improvements to internal controls, policies, procedures, and organizational practices.
• Ensure digital forensic evidence is collected, managed, and applied reliably while maintaining integrity, efficiency, confidentiality, and compliance with applicable international standards.
• Submit final reports and supporting evidence for each assignment to the designated oversight leadership.
• Provide clear overviews of allegations and the facts and evidence supporting or contradicting each element of a case.

Requirements

• Hold an advanced university degree in law, criminal justice, political science, police studies, auditing, accounting, or a related field, or an equivalent advanced-level qualification.
• Alternatively, a first-level university degree in a relevant field combined with formal investigation qualifications or certifications may be considered alongside additional qualifying professional experience.
• Bring at least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in investigations, law enforcement, or a related field, including at least 3 years of experience at the international level.
• Demonstrate a proven track record of planning, leading, and executing high-priority, complex, and/or sensitive investigations.
• Experience conducting investigations within international organizations is highly desirable.
• Experience handling investigations involving abusive conduct or senior officials is highly desirable.
• Formal training or certifications in investigations, fraud, sexual exploitation and abuse, or abusive conduct are desirable.
• Demonstrate strong capabilities in investigation planning, evidence collection and preservation, interviewing, forensic analysis, data analysis, and investigative reporting.
• Be proficient in evaluating financial, operational, and digital information and applying advanced data analytics tools to investigative work.
• Demonstrate strong risk-management capabilities, including the ability to assess risks related to fraud, corruption, operational inefficiencies, and non-compliance.
• Have strong knowledge of, or the ability to quickly learn, relevant organizational regulations, policies, procedures, and service orders.
• Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, well-substantiated reports.
• Be committed to continuous learning and staying current with investigative best practices, emerging risks, and new technologies.
• Have advanced-level English proficiency; knowledge of Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish is an advantage.
• A doctorate in a related field may be considered as a substitute for three years of professional experience.
