Accountabilities

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project-specific EHS risks before and during execution, going beyond standard operational routines and focusing on activities with elevated or unique risks.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor contingency and mitigation plans for critical project activities.
  • Ensure project activities comply with applicable legal requirements, corporate EHS standards, and customer-specific EHS requirements established through contracts.
  • Act as a strategic EHS partner to the Project Manager, participating in project reviews, supporting decision-making, and helping manage customer expectations related to safety and environmental health.
  • Represent the organization during customer meetings, construction audits, site audits, and other EHS-related engagements.
  • Assess EHS resource requirements, including specialized training, specific personal protective equipment (PPE), and additional technical support, based on project schedules and the complexity of each phase.
  • Evaluate the EHS implications of changes to project scope, schedules, or execution methodologies, ensuring safety considerations remain protected when balancing efficiency, cost, and deadlines.
  • Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety Engineering or a related field.
  • Previous professional experience in an EHS or Occupational Safety Engineering role.
  • Extensive knowledge of safety regulations applicable to large-scale construction, installation, assembly, or long-term maintenance projects.
  • Strong ability to identify project-specific risks, develop mitigation strategies, and integrate EHS considerations into project planning and execution.
  • Experience working strategically with project managers, customers, contractors, and other stakeholders in complex project environments.
  • Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Advanced Spanish proficiency.
  • Intermediate English proficiency.
  • Availability for frequent travel and potential relocation to countries across Latin America.
