• This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Engenheiro(a) de Segurança do Trabalho (EHS) based in Brazil.
• This role is responsible for leading EHS strategy and risk management across complex project environments.
• You will identify, assess, and mitigate project-specific risks before and throughout execution, with particular focus on critical activities.
• Working closely with project leadership, you will ensure compliance with legal requirements, corporate standards, and customer-specific EHS commitments.
• The position combines technical expertise with strategic partnership, stakeholder management, and proactive safety planning.
• You will help anticipate the EHS impact of changes to scope, schedules, and execution methods while protecting people and project integrity.
• The role also involves planning EHS resources according to project complexity and representing the organization during customer meetings and site audits.
• Frequent travel and potential relocation across Latin America make this an international role with broad project exposure.

Accountabilities

• Identify, assess, and mitigate project-specific EHS risks before and during execution, going beyond standard operational routines and focusing on activities with elevated or unique risks.
• Develop, implement, and monitor contingency and mitigation plans for critical project activities.
• Ensure project activities comply with applicable legal requirements, corporate EHS standards, and customer-specific EHS requirements established through contracts.
• Act as a strategic EHS partner to the Project Manager, participating in project reviews, supporting decision-making, and helping manage customer expectations related to safety and environmental health.
• Represent the organization during customer meetings, construction audits, site audits, and other EHS-related engagements.
• Assess EHS resource requirements, including specialized training, specific personal protective equipment (PPE), and additional technical support, based on project schedules and the complexity of each phase.
• Evaluate the EHS implications of changes to project scope, schedules, or execution methodologies, ensuring safety considerations remain protected when balancing efficiency, cost, and deadlines.
• Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety Engineering or a related field.
• Previous professional experience in an EHS or Occupational Safety Engineering role.
• Extensive knowledge of safety regulations applicable to large-scale construction, installation, assembly, or long-term maintenance projects.
• Strong ability to identify project-specific risks, develop mitigation strategies, and integrate EHS considerations into project planning and execution.
• Experience working strategically with project managers, customers, contractors, and other stakeholders in complex project environments.
• Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Advanced Spanish proficiency.
• Intermediate English proficiency.
• Availability for frequent travel and potential relocation to countries across Latin America.
