- This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Engenheiro Orçamentista - Inglês Fluente based in Brazil.
- This is an opportunity for an experienced construction estimator to contribute to high-end hospitality and residential development projects across international markets. You will take ownership of detailed cost estimation, budgeting, and cost analysis throughout the project lifecycle. The role is heavily focused on AACE Class 3 and Class 2 estimates, while also supporting earlier-stage Class 5 and Class 4 estimates. You will work closely with project managers, architects, designers, engineers, procurement specialists, contractors, and client representatives. Your analysis will directly support commercial decisions, procurement strategies, project planning, and cost control. The position offers significant autonomy, requiring accuracy, strong judgment, and consistent delivery of high-quality reports. Accountabilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects, with a primary focus on AACE Class 3 and Class 2 estimates.
- Support early-stage estimating activities, including AACE Class 5 and Class 4 estimates, as projects move from concept toward development.
- Analyze materials, machinery, equipment, labor, and service costs to develop accurate project forecasts.
- Develop detailed bills of quantities for construction activities and project requirements.
- Prepare and maintain construction cost plans, budgets, and related financial documentation.
- Develop detailed construction schedules and coordinate cost information with project planning activities.
- Review, analyze, and challenge proposals submitted by contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Prepare quotations for materials, equipment, machinery, labor, and specialist services.
- Support procurement activities, tender documentation, and contract administration throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare and submit progress reports, cost updates, and project variations to relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor project costs and identify potential deviations, risks, or opportunities for optimization.
- Investigate and help resolve cost-related and contractual disputes in collaboration with the project team.
- Maintain strong working relationships with contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and other industry stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, interior designers, structural and MEP engineers, FF&E procurement teams, and client representatives.
- Work independently on day-to-day estimating activities while providing timely updates and escalating key issues when required.
- Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Estimation, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- 6+ years of proven experience working as a construction estimator.
- At least 3 years of experience estimating high-end hospitality and/or residential projects.
- Demonstrated experience preparing estimates and budgets for construction projects valued at $20M USD or more.
- Strong understanding of construction costs, quantities, materials, labor, equipment, procurement, and contractor pricing.
- Strong knowledge of construction tendering, procurement processes, contract administration, variations, and cost control.
- Proven ability to prepare detailed estimates aligned with AACE Class 2 and Class 3 requirements, with additional exposure to Class 4 and Class 5 estimates.
- Proficiency with Excel, Google Sheets, AutoCAD, and Revit.
- Established network of professional relationships with contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and other construction industry stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly explain estimates, assumptions, cost drivers, and recommendations.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities effectively, and consistently meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills and a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
- Fluent English is required for effective collaboration with international teams and stakeholders.
