• We are seeking a proactive Construction Project Manager to join a California-based construction company managing multiple active projects.
• In this role, you will coordinate day-to-day project needs, from reviewing construction plans and organizing subcontractors to ordering materials and scheduling deliveries. Working closely with the on-site supervisor, you will ensure that the people, materials, and documentation needed for each stage of construction are in place.
• This opportunity is ideal for an architect or engineer with practical construction management experience who can take ownership of assigned work, anticipate issues, and follow through independently with minimal supervision.
• Key Responsibilities
• Review and interpret construction plans to understand project scope, specifications, and material requirements.
• Coordinate subcontractors, communicate work requirements, and follow up on schedules and outstanding tasks.
• Ensure subcontractor contracts are signed and required paperwork is completed and organized.
• Identify and order the correct materials from suppliers based on project plans and requirements.
• Coordinate deliveries to ensure materials arrive when needed.
• Align subcontractor schedules and material availability with construction progress.
• Maintain regular communication with the on-site supervisor to address project needs and resolve coordination issues.
• Track outstanding items, identify potential delays, and proactively follow up to keep work moving.
• Use CAD and online supplier platforms to support project coordination and purchasing.
• Background in architecture, structural engineering, civil engineering, construction management, or a related field. Architects are especially encouraged to apply.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in construction project management or coordination.
• Strong ability to read and understand architectural and engineering construction plans.
• Practical experience coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, and construction activities.
• Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD.
• Strong spoken and written English, including confidence communicating directly with subcontractors and suppliers by phone.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize competing tasks, and execute assignments with minimal supervision.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and consistent follow-through.
