- We are seeking a proactive Construction Project Manager to join a California-based construction company managing multiple active projects.
- In this role, you will coordinate day-to-day project needs, from reviewing construction plans and organizing subcontractors to ordering materials and scheduling deliveries. Working closely with the on-site supervisor, you will ensure that the people, materials, and documentation needed for each stage of construction are in place.
- This opportunity is ideal for an architect or engineer with practical construction management experience who can take ownership of assigned work, anticipate issues, and follow through independently with minimal supervision.
- Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret construction plans to understand project scope, specifications, and material requirements.
- Coordinate subcontractors, communicate work requirements, and follow up on schedules and outstanding tasks.
- Ensure subcontractor contracts are signed and required paperwork is completed and organized.
- Identify and order the correct materials from suppliers based on project plans and requirements.
- Coordinate deliveries to ensure materials arrive when needed.
- Align subcontractor schedules and material availability with construction progress.
- Maintain regular communication with the on-site supervisor to address project needs and resolve coordination issues.
- Track outstanding items, identify potential delays, and proactively follow up to keep work moving.
- Use CAD and online supplier platforms to support project coordination and purchasing.
- Background in architecture, structural engineering, civil engineering, construction management, or a related field. Architects are especially encouraged to apply.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in construction project management or coordination.
- Strong ability to read and understand architectural and engineering construction plans.
- Practical experience coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, and construction activities.
- Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD.
- Strong spoken and written English, including confidence communicating directly with subcontractors and suppliers by phone.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize competing tasks, and execute assignments with minimal supervision.
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and consistent follow-through.
- Availability for a full-time remote role with working hours aligned with the California team.
